  • Like Aaron said, the Laws of Physics have gone beserk! Those weird fireflies went crazy and then Aaron was brought back to life. How are the fireflies connected? And what's with all the dead rats? Theories anyone?

    • According to the Wiki page about Nanites, it says that they can remove malignant cells. Maybe the rats are full of those cells?

    • I have a theory that the fireflies may be either carrying nanites or completely made up of nanites. Maybe the fireflies see Aaron as a master/creator of sorts.

    • That's an interesting theory. Maybe the nanites are being controlled by someone or maybe there is an AI out there.

    • The fireflies lighting up is a chemical process... maybe the nanites are triggering a reaction in the fireflies?

    • I think that while the process of bioluminescence stayed the same, there is  something very unusual about those fireflies. Physics can only change so much before things just end.

    • If for everytime the power is turned back on there is a chance of the whole world blowing up... then maybe the fireflies are experiencing 'explosions' within their bodies.

    • Maybe, but in Revolution Revealed, they talk about the laws of physics shifting once during the Blackout and again when they turned the power on and back off. Considering that science basically dropped acid, what is going on is anyone's guess.

    • Im also still curious about the rats. Since rats carry all kinds of diseases would those be considered "malignant cells" to the Nanites? If all of the nanites were 'removed' then would electricity work again without the risk of world ignition?

Well, the equipment in the Tower is toast, so I don't know if they can turn the power on again. As for the rats, that's a very interesting observation.

    • Maybe the nanites created some kind of AI. Each nanite communicating with each other could act as a neuron, and given the amount of nanites there is on this planet it would be a VERY smart AI. The fireflies are probably just it's eyes, like seen on the latest episode.

Oh great, an omnipotent, brilliant post-apocalyptic Skynet.

    • After watching the latest episode and seeing Neilandio's post, I am starting to wonder if Aaron is maybe actually dead, but his body is being controlled by the Nanites which may be able to access his memories, etc?

    • Lightning in the scene when Charlie wakes up from being drugged after Monroe saves her in the bar.  It was Halloween during the episode though, so maybe the nanites took that night off and all went trick-or-treating?

    • The rats were failed experiments by the nanites.
